Different Ways to Get Involved

Temple alumni volunteers support the Temple University Alumni Association Parliament, Advancement Engagement, Alumni Relations, Student Activities and Undergraduate Admissions, as well as their respective school or college alumni association boards, and more. Explore the diverse and rewarding opportunities for involvement listed below and share your interest by submitting the Alumni Volunteer Interest Form.*

On-Campus One-Day Event Opportunities

Are you interested in volunteering for opportunities that require just a one-day time commitment or less on Temple Main Campus? Come join us on campus to lend a hand with Undergraduate Admissions to engage with prospective or admitted students and their families, or assist the Temple University Alumni Association with one or more of our signature programs. These include support for Convocation, Homecoming & Family Weekend, Temple Made Days, Broad Street Run Cheer Station and more!

Regional Network Ambassador

Owls are Everywhere! Upon graduation, all alumni are welcomed into the Temple University Alumni Association (TUAA) and, depending on where you live, one of our regional networks (Atlanta, DMV, Greater Philly, Northern California, Los Angeles, Metropolitan New York). We’re seeking volunteers living in these regions who are interested in serving on the TUAA Regional Network Council in their area and supporting activities to bring Owls together.

Regional Volunteer

We strive to ensure all alumni feel connected and engaged to Temple everywhere, and beyond our existing regional networks. But we cannot do it alone. We are looking for alumni who are passionate about Temple and its mission, want to get involved in some way, but want a more flexible, less structured volunteer role. Examples of involvement may include supporting regional admissions activities; hosting alumni events; recommending outstanding Owls in your region; and more. Learn more about this opportunity.

New Affinity Engagement
  • In addition to supporting our current shared-identity affinity groups (Temple University Black Alumni Alliance, Temple Women’s Network, Temple University Young Alumni Association, Honors Alumni Council), Temple Alumni Relations strives to broaden and enrich affinity, identity-based and shared-interest groups (e.g., Owl Team Ambassadors, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Study Abroad), programs and opportunities. This will ensure Temple is more inclusive and adaptable, and connecting to current and future alumni interests.
  • Temple Alumni Relations is currently developing opportunities for the Asian American Pacific Islander and LGBTQIA+ communities. However, we are working to expand to support and engage other shared-identity or interest-based communities and groups through targeted programs, initiatives and communications.
  • We’re seeking volunteers to contribute their insights and perspectives in focus groups, offer feedback and volunteer to support both current and prospective initiatives. Interested in connecting with your fellow alumni in this manner? Share your voice with us. Email
Alumni-Hosted Event Lead

Would you like to organize a small, pay-as-you-go event to bring Temple alumni together? Whether you’re near or far from campus, alumni are invited to volunteer to assist with alumni-hosted events for their friends, local or regional alumni. Let us know your interest, and we’ll provide guidance, marketing and swag to support your initiative! Alumni interested in this opportunity will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement, as we encourage the leads to share personal outreach to alumni local to you, which will be supplemented by alumni relations promotions.

School and College Involvement

Every Temple school or college has volunteer opportunities through its alumni associations as well as school-/college-specific events. Should you be interested in engaging and connecting with alumni who graduated from your school or college, or interacting with students on a similar academic path, your school or college provides an excellent avenue for involvement.

Share Your Expertise

Do you possess a specific area of expertise that you’re eager to share or present to current students, fellow alumni or members of the wider Temple community? Let us know, and we’ll reach out if an opportunity arises that matches your expertise or talents.

Mentorship Opportunities

Temple University provides a range of formal and informal mentorship opportunities designed to connect with students and young alumni to support professional development and enhance academic and career success. Your valuable insight and advice could greatly contribute to supporting the next generation of Temple Owls. Please note that not all schools, colleges or units have mentorship programs or opportunities at this time. Should this be the case for your area of interest or expertise, we’ll keep you on a list of potential mentors as new opportunities arise.
