Class of 1993I graduated from Temple University in 1993. I earned a B.A. in psychology. It was a rewarding experience. It has been a tradition in my family to attend Temple. My mother earned her B.S. and her M.Ed. from the School of Education. Many of my relatives did too! I grew up battling a learning disability and Temple gave me a chance. I graduated with honors. Temple prepared me to earn my M.A. and my Ph.D. from Fairfield & Walden Universities. Thank you Temple.

Ellesia Blaque (2001) writes, "I have been appointed to my first tenure track postiion at Palm Beach Community College in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, teaching American and African American literature. I began the position in the Summer of 2007. I am happy to have realized the academic accomplishments encouraged by Temple University's Ronald McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program, which I was awarded in 1999. I would like to thank several former TU faculty members and employees, including the former director of the McNair program, Sonya Siler; the former director of Community Partnerships, Dr. Lori Shorr; and Dr. Amy Birge, former Associate Professor, English, for personally mentoring me toward and through graduate school. I am in my last year of school at Wayne State University in Detroit and my dissertation is almost complete. I hope to defend sometime in the Spring of 2008. There I was awarded a graduate teaching assistantship and a King-Chavez-Parks fellowship. After a disappointing start at QCC-CUNY in New York in 2005, I have finally landed a dream job at PBCC in Florida's Palm Beaches. I have released over a dozen publications with two more on the way. THANKS TEMPLE! Without all of the help I received from you, I would have never realized my dreams!!
